ABOUT

Karen Leong is a Hong Kong-born editor, journalist and essayist with over seven years of experience in Australia. With a background in print and digital publication, she specialises in fields of fashion, art and cultural commentary across earned media spheres. You can find Karen’s bylines in Another Magazine, InStyle, Vice Asia, RUSSH Magazine, ArtsHub, and Multicultural NSW. 

Karen is also a writer of creative non-fiction, prose and poetry.  

She was awarded as a 2023 recipient of the Meta X Walkley Grant for Australian Art Journalism. In 2024, she was elected as a StoryCaster with Diversity Arts Australia, Multicultural NSW and Sweatshop Literary Movement. She was also selected as a finalist in the CHANEL x RUSSH Literary Showcase for her non-fiction piece ‘Predilection & Pain’.

 She currently works and writes on unceded Gadigal land.
